Work starts on port complex

Work began yesterday for a major project, which includes an international port, industrial park, industrial service park and an urban area, in Long An Province’s Can Giuoc district.

The project is an US$1 billion joint venture between the building materials and property Dong Tam Group and the asset management VinaCapital. It covers 1,935ha of land and will be developed in 10 years.

The Long An International Port will be built on the banks of the Soai Rap River and be able to receive sea vessels of 30,000 to 70,000 DWT.
