Work started on upgrading National Highways 53 and 54

A ground-breaking ceremony to upgrade National Highways No 53 and 54 was held yesterday in Tan Hung commune, Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh province.

These are under a project to develop infrastructure facilities in the Cuu Long river delta.

Work started on upgrading National Highways 53 and 54

The project on upgrading National Highway 53 includes two bid packages. Under the first package, National Highway 53 will be upgraded from Km 56+000 to Km 60+610 with a length of 4.6 kilometres linking Cang Long and Chau Thanh districts with Tra Vinh town.

Under the second package, 8.91 kilometres of National Highway 53 going through Duyen Hai and Tra Cu districts will be upgraded.

Works on National Highway 54 will be carried out from Km 85+000 to Km 125+854. The new road will have a road-bed of 9 metres and speed limit of up to 60 kilometres per hour.
