Work on Quang Trach thermo power super-project to start in Jul

The ground clearance must be completed to prepare for the construction of Quang Trach thermo power project invested by Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam-PVN) to start in July, 2011 as scheduled, Nguyen Huu Hoai, chairman of People’s Committee of Quang Binh province, said.
Earlier, on September 11, 2010, PetroVietnam and People’s Committee of central province of Quang Binh kicked off construction on infrastructure system to serve Quang Trach power centre.

Quanh Trach power center has been approved in the national electricity development scheme during 2006-2015 and orientation to 2025 including two coal-fuelled thermo power plants with a total capacity of 2,400 MW by the prime minister.

PVN-invested project capitalized at of $1.83 billion (some 35 trillion dong) is expected to be in operational by 2015. – Vietbiz24
