Word bank has granted vietnam $13.5 bln loans

World Bank (WB) has granted Vietnam a total sum of $13.5 billion so far, including non-refundable aids, preferential loans, the local news provider dvt.vn reported November 4, citing data from the two side cooperation anniversary held today.

The International Finance Corporation ( IFC), a member of WB raised its committed aids for Vietnam to $1 billion in 2011 from $62 million in 2007.

Robert Zoellick, chairman of WB confirmed that in the medium term, WB will continue to give Vietnam significant aids funded by International Development Association (IDA) and International Bank for Reconstruction and Development ( IBRD) to help the country with economic reforms and public investments.

World bank is now preparing strategy to boost cooperation with Vietnam in the next 5 years to support the country achieve its 2011-16 targets.
