VNPT gains 67.5tr dong revenue in first ten months
During the first ten months this year, there were 35 million new phone subscribers, up 5.4 percent against the same period last year, including over 770,000 fixed phone subscribers and 34.5 million mobile phone ones, according to general Statistic Office (GSO).
Till the end of October, the country has had 160.8 million phone subscribers, a year-on-year rise of 40.2 percent, with 144.4 million mobile phone ones.
Of which, Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has developed 72 million new phone subscribers, increasing 32 percent year-on-year.
The group’s revenue in Jan-October reached 67.5 trillion dong, rising 25.9 percent y-o-y and revenue of post and telecommunications sectors was 104 trillion dong, increasing 28.3 percent y-o-y, reported GSO.
However, it is noticeable that the number of new fixed phone subscribers in Jan-October decreased 39.6 percent from the same period last year.
Deputy minister of Information and Communications, Le Nam Thang, said that the fixed telephone tended to decrease. But, according to Thang, this problem happens not only in Vietnam but also it is an inevitable trends because of the convenience as well as reasonable prices of mobile phone services. – Baodautu
