The target was set at the Ministry of Transport’s conference on reviewing the work done in 2009 and on its vision of deploying its 2010 plan.

Accordingly, some big projects the construction of which is expected to commence in 2010 includes the expansion of the Phu Ly – Vinh section of Highway 1A, the construction of a road linking the Nhat Tan bridge with the Noi Bai International Airport, the Hanoi’s Ring Road No.3 in its second phase, the Noi Bai – Lao Cai expressway, the Ben Thuy 2 bridge and the deployment of construction projects of Ho Chi Minh Road in its second phase.

In 2009, the transport sector disbursed VND 35 trillion, the highest so far. The investment in capital construction is defined by the Ministry of Transport as one of the pivotal tasks to implement the Government’s investment stimulus policy with the aim of quickly developing transport infrastructure.
