VN Post allowed to run public postal network

The prime minister has recently issued a Decision No 41/2011/QD_TTg dated August 3, 2011 appointing Vietnam Post Corp (VN Post) to be the maintainer and manager for the public postal network.

Vietnam Post has also been allowed to provide public postal services in accordance with its tasks and plans and provide international postal services and other services within the framework of international agreements on post, of which Vietnam is a member and engage in the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and Asia-Pacific Postal Union (APPU).

This decision will take effect from October 1, 2011.
