Vinashin and Vinalines sign contract for building 20 new ships

Vietnam Shipping Industry Group (Vinashin) and Vietnam Shipping Lines Corp (Vinalines) yesterday signed the framework agreement for building 20 new ships.

Accordingly, Vinalines will receive the 20 ships that Vinashin’s partners have already cancelled the contracts of building ships with the investor (Vinashin) including 10 ships that were being built at Nam Trieu Corp, 4 ships in Pha Rung Corp, 4 ships of Southern Region Shipping Industry Investment and Development Co and two 6,800dwt ships that were in-progress of building in Saigon Shipbuilding and Industry Co.

Vinalines alsos signed the contract of building three cargo carriers of 22,500 dwt each with Bach Dang Shipbuilding Corp previously. – TBKTVN
