Vinashin affiliate builds 47,500-ton ships for Vinalines

Ha Long Shipbuilding Company, an affiliate of Vietnam Business Group (Vinashin), has started building two cargo ships with a capacity of 47,500 ton each for Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines).

These freighters, which have 190 meters long and can travel at 14.2 nautical miles per hour each, were designed by South Korea’s Win-Win Engineering and inspected by South’s Korean KR and Vietnam Registries.

These are among four 47,500-ton vessels that Ha Long shipyard will build for Vinalines in line with the Vietnamese government to develop its fleet.

Ha Long shipbuilder targets to earn revenues of VND2.5 trillion and industrial production value of VND2.6 trillion this year, compared to VND2.44 trillion and VND2.5 trillion in 2009. – VCCI
