Vinaphone to expand GSM network

The new deployment of more than 3,000 sites will, over the next two years, extend Vinaphone’s 2G network coverage and capacity in the southern and northern provinces, including the densely populated cities of Ha Noi and HCM City.

“With a strong relationship stretching back some 12 years, we are very pleased to continue our long-term co-operation with Vinaphone and to be able to ensure mobile users in Viet Nam continual access to high-quality mobile services,” Ray Owen, general director of Motorola Viet Nam, said.

“The new deployment will extend coverage and increase the capacity of Vinaphone’s GSM network, meeting the rapidly growing demand for mobile communications services in the country,” Owen said.

“As a major operator in Viet Nam, Vinaphone has chosen Motorola to support its network deployments for top-quality communications solutions and services. The extended GSM network will help Vinaphone increase capacity to fulfil the growing demands for telecom services in urban areas, as well as provide better coverage and user experiences in suburban and rural areas.”
