VinaPhone to distribute 4G iPhone in Vietnam
Mobile operator VinaPhone stated this morning that it will distribute Apple’s 4G iPhone in the next several months.
The statement came only several hours after Apple officially introduced its new product. However, VinaPhone did not disclose the details of its plan.
VinaPhone’s statement dispelled the rumor that Vietnamese mobile operators may not import the 4G iPhone.
According to the VNExpress online newswire, besides VinaPhone, Viettel will also distribute the 4G iPhone in Vietnam.
After more than one month of officially distributing 3G iPhones in Vietnam, VinaPhone and Viettel have adjusted their sales policy. On June 1, Viettel announced its plans to reduce the price for the 3G iPhone 8GB black and 3GS iPhone white by 1 million dong. This move shows that this operator wants to encourage sales of 3G iPhone before importing 4G iPhone.
The three largest mobile service providers in Vietnam—VinaPhone, MobiFone and Viettel—have signed contracts with Apple to distribute iPhones in Vietnam, yet only VinaPhone and Viettel have sold this product in their stores.
