Vinacomin to build coal transit port in south

The Ministry of Transport has recently allowed Vietnam National Coal and Minerals Industries Group (Vinacomin) to sign credit contract to build coal transit port in the southern region of Vietnam, which is to serve coal-fired thermo power projects in the Mekong Delta area, Nhan Dan newspaper reported on May 16.
The ministry also requested to set up an experienced foreign and domestic consultant consortium in designing high-capacity seaport, especially for investment projects to build seaports in the south.

In particular, the consultant consortium will analyze the technical feasibility, identify transport schemes, operating costs of the investment plan, ensuring the lowest transport costs serving coal-fired thermo power projects in the Mekong Delta area. – Vietbiz24
