Viettel dominates 42pct market share in Cambodia

After only two years of starting operations, Viettel Cambodia’s mobile phone network (brand name is Metfone) has reached four million subscribers, representing 42 percent of the market share of Cambodia (Cambodia now has 10 mobile phone network operators).

Currently, Viettel Cambodia has built 4,500 base transceiver stations (BTS) and 12,000 sales agents to communes.

Reportedly, from a revenue of $58 million in 2009, Viettel Cambodia expects to gain $305 million revenue in 2011. – Tuoitre
