Vietsovpetro to welcome the 190 millionth tonne of oil
The Russian-Vietnamese oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro will exploit the 190 millionth tonne of oil from the Bach Ho (White Tiger) and Rong (Dragon) oil fields by 12pm on January 5, 2011.
This is an important event, marking the gigantic contribution made by Vietsovpetro’s staff since the exploitation of the first tonne of oil on June 26, 1986.
Nguyen Huu Tuyen, general director of the joint venture said in 2010, Vietsovpetro prevented the reduction in output and fulfilled the set target of 6.4 million tonnes of oil, earning a revenue of US$3.93 billion.
The joint venture’s oil reserves have also increased by three times, he said, adding that 2011 will be an important transition and the first year for the joint venture to implement the 2011-2015 plan. – VOV
