Vietsovpetro saves money after expanding fleet
The Vietnam-Russia Petroleum Joint Venture (Vietsovpetro) will save more than 10 million USD this year after buying two new service vessels, said an official from Vietsovpetro’s subsidiary.
Speaking at a ceremony to receive the two vessels on January 14, the Director of Vietsovpetro’s marine transport and diving division said that the vessels Vung Tau 02 and Vung Tau 03 are the latest ships to join Vietsovpetro’s fleet to facilitate its operations.
The 2,342 tonne Vung Tau 02, was built in Indonesia while the 2,538 tonne Vung Tau 03 was built in China ’s Guangzhou province last year.
Vietsovpetro had to pay 35 million USD to hire ships last year and 27.8 million USD in 2008.
