Vietnam’s total retail sales and services reach 304.3tr dong in first two months

As announced by the General Statistics Office (GSO) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) recently, Vietnam’s total retail sales and services during the first two months this year is estimated to reach 304.3 trillion dong, growing 23.7% against the same period last year.

Particularly, in Jan-Feb, trading sector reached 241.7 trillion dong, a year on year rise of 24.4% while the hotel and restaurant segment contributed 32.5 trillion dong, up 20.6% y-o-y, services at 27.1 trillion dong, up 22.5% and tourism at 3 trillion dong, a year on year rise of 16.5%.

Also in Jan-Feb, the total state budget collection is estimated to reach 104.68 trillion dong, equaling to 17.6% of the year’s estimate, up 12.7% over the same period last year. Of which, domestic collection is estimated to reach 70.57 trillion dong or 18.5% of the year’s estimate and up 15% year on year.

Notably, many other collections also posted high rise against the year’s estimate and the actualized figure in the previous year such as collection from crude oil was equal to 17.3% of the year’s estimate and up 11.8% y-o-y and state budget collection from export import operations was equal to 15.5% of the year’s estimate and rising 7.7% y-o-y.
