Vietnam’s gold consumption estimated at over 19 tons in Q1

Vietnam’s gold consumption in the first quarter of this year was 19.2 tones, up 2 percent from the same period last year, the World Gold Council reported on April 27.
In particular, demand for gold jewelry in Vietnam in the first quarter increased 7 percent, equivalent to 5.5 tones while the demand of gold for investment was 14.2 tons, up 1 percent from a year earlier.

In terms of value, the Vietnam’s total gold consumption was equivalent to $878 million, up 28 percent over the same period last year. – Vietbiz24
