Vietnam’s exports to India up 139pct in first 11 months 2010
Vietnam’s exports to India in November 2010 reached $123.4 million, up 19.9 percent from the previous month and up 191 percent on year, bringing the country’s total export turnover to India in Jan-November to $863 million, up 139 percent y-o-y and accounting for 1.3 percent of the country’s total export turnover in Jan-November 2010, General Statistical Office (GSO) reported.
Steel and iron items posted the highest export turnover with $63.5 million, growing 873.8 percent y-o-y and accounting for 7.4 percent of the total.
In addition, some other Vietnam’s key export commodities to Indian market in first 11 months last year gained high growth including rubber ($63.5 million, up 615 percent y-o-y and accounting for 7.4 percent of the total), and followed by coal ($60.7 million, up 309.8 percent and accounting for 7 percent), transport means and spare parts ($25.4 million, up 175.7 percent and accounting for 2.9 percent), and chemicals ($22.9 million, up 168.5 percent and counting for 2.7 percent).
Conversely, Vietnam’s key export commodities to Indian market fell in export turnover in Jan-November 22010 including tea ($3.2 million, down 64.7 percent y-o-y and counting for 0.4 percent of the total), and then products from steel and iron ($3.9 million, down 30 percent and counting for 0.5 percent) and rubber products ($1.2 million, down 2.2 percent and counting for 0.14 percent of the total). – Vietbiz24
