Vietnam’s export turnover for gemstone and precious metals reaches over $1.1b in Jul
In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam’s total export turnover of gemstone and precious metals reached $2.32 billion, rising 51.6% from the same period last year and equaling 231.9% of the year’s plan, General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) reported.
The figure in July alone was $1.11 billion, up 38.3% month on month and accounting for 47.8% of the total figures in seven months.
The figure in July was much higher than the figure announced preciously by the General Statistics Office (GSO) by $310 million (or 38.7%).
According to GDVC, the country’s import value for gemstone and precious metals in July was $26.3 million, rising 30% from the previous month, bringing the total figure in Jan-Jul to $452 million, a year on year increase of 38.9%.
Thus, the country enjoyed a trade surplus of nearly $850 million for gemstone and precious metals in July and it was $1.87 billion in Jan-Jul. – Vietbiz24
