Vietnam’s cashew export targets $1.5b in 2011

Vietnam expected to earn an export turnover of $1.4-1.5 billion from cashew sector in 2011, a year-on-year rise of 32 percent, Nguyen Thai Hoc, chair of Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas), said at the meeting of summing up the country’s cashew industry in 2010 and carrying out the targets in 2011 held on March 10 in HCM City.

According to Hoc, in order to realise the aforementioned targets, the country’s cashew sector will have to process and export about 190,000 tonnes of cashew this year.
