Vietnamese people prefer using Vietnamese goods

Nearly 59 percent of Vietnamese people now prefer using Vietnamese goods.

In the first six months of this year, the Vietnam National Textile Garment Group (Vinatex) earned an estimated VND8,300 billion, up 23 percent compared to the same period last year.

Many companies achieved revenues of more than VND300 billion including  Phong Phu Joint Stock Company, Viet Tien Garment and Textile Joint Stock Corporation, and Viet Thang Corporation.

Vietnamese foodstuffs and house wares have also won consumer trust and  70-80 percent of goods sold in Hapro supermarkets are Vietnamese products.

However, apart from garments, textiles and food, the quality of Vietnamese goods remains a concern for consumers. According to economic experts, Vietnam’s labour productivity is two to twelve times lower than the regional and global average.

Vietnamese businesses, therefore, should reconsider their strategies and develop in a more professional manner as part of the world production chain to reduce costs and increase efficiency. – VOV
