Vietnamese, Lao localities boost multifaceted links

Vietnam’s southern province of Dong Nai and Champassak province of Laos signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the fields of economics, culture and technical science in the period of 2011-2015.

The MOU was signed in the framework of a working visit to Dong Nai province by a high-level delegation from Champassak province, led by its Party Secretary and Governor, Sonsay Siphandone, on June 22.

Under the MOU, the two provinces will organise visits to promote investment, trade and tourism, aiming to create favourable conditions for the two sides’ businesses to seek and develop new markets in each province to further boost business cooperation.

In addition, the provinces will also enhance cooperation in other fields including industry, agriculture, trade, service, science-technology, infrastructure, health care, human resources training, culture and sport.

At the working session between leaders of the two provinces, Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh affirmed the province always attaches special importance to establishing cooperative relations with many localities in foreign countries, including Champassak province of Laos.

Provincial authorities will also encourage enterprises in the province to invest and trade in Laos, he said, adding two companies of Dong Nai are investing in Laos, which are the Long Thanh Golf Joint Stock Company and the Tin Nghia Corporation – VOV
