Vietnam tops the list of investors in Laos

In the three quarters of 2011, Vietnamese businesses invested in 203 projects in Laos with a total capitalization of more than US$3 billion, announced the Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Association.

This put Vietnam above 55 other investors from countries and territories over the world.

Lao Prime Minister, Thongsing Thammavong, recently praised the efficiency of Vietnamese investment is typical of foreign investment in Laos.

He said Vietnamese investors have made positive contributions to improving Laos’ social welfare with a focus on poor areas in the northern provinces of Oudomsay, Luangnamtha, Huaphanh and Xiengkhuang – VOV
