Vietnam to negotiate with ADB for transport projects in north

The prime minister has recently approved the proposal of State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on negotiating with Asian Development Bank (ADB) for loan agreements and related documents for transport projects in the northern mountainous provinces of Vietnam.
The negotiation delegation will be led by Nguyen Vinh Hung, deputy director of International Cooperation Department under SBV.

The negotiation duration is scheduled to last from August 16 to 18 in Manila, Philippines.

Six provinces joined the transport project including Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai and Lao Cai. The project will be broken into two phases with $109.6 million for the first phase, including $80 million from ADB loan.

The first stage to upgrade some routes with a total length of over 300 kilometers under the mountainous road standards Grade 4, 5 and 6 is expected to start from 2012 and finish by 2017. – Vietbiz24
