Vietnam to Host Biggest Int’l Conference on Electricity June 21-24
Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Asia Business Forum and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (Eurocham) will organize an international conference on electricity in Ho Chi Minh City between June 21 and 24.
The conference will be the largest of its kind in Vietnam so far, the ministry said on its website.
Hundreds of leading companies and well-known experts worldwide will participate in the four-day event to discuss power development projects in the Southeast Asian country in the next years.
Vietnam obtained an impressive economic growth rate over the past decade, leading to a two-fold increase in the domestic power demand, the World Bank said, adding that the demand would double in the next ten years if the country continues witnessing such growth.
The country’s power production output is estimated to surge 125% from now through 2019, taking lead in the Pacific-Asia region; however, with the estimated population of 94 million people in 2014, its demand will also increase by 65%.
