Vietnam ties up cooperation with Microsoft Group

In the meeting with Steve Ballmer, Microsoft Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Hanoi yesterday May 24, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that Vietnam’s Information Technology (IT) development strategy focused on developing the software industry, training human resources and building a modern IT infrastructure. He expected that Microsoft and Vietnamese partners would strengthen cooperation relations, bringing in positive and effective results for Vietnam’s IT industry.

The prime minister also assured that Vietnam would carry out seriously and fully the regulations on intellectual property protection and asked Microsoft Group to continue providing preferential policies on software and IT development in Vietnam.

The Microsoft executive said his group would carry out upgrade and renewal in the near future, and the group still wishes to work closely with Vietnam’s relevant ministries and agencies, not only in education and training and software technology development but also in other fields.

Previously, Ballmer had a talk with students in Hanoi University of Technology about new Internet generations.
