Vietnam targets to curb trade deficit at 18% export revenue or $14.2 billion in 2011, up $1.8 billion from 2010
Vietnam targets to curb trade deficit at 18% export revenue or $14.2 billion in 2011, up $1.8 billion from 2010, the local online Saigontimes reported on Jan 9, cititing the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).
The Southern Asian nation sets the export and import revenue for 2011 of $78.8 billion and $93 billion, up 10% and 10.7% from 2010, respectively.
Processed staples will contribute the highest export revenue of $43.5 billion, including $12.5 billion worth of textile and garment staple.
Seafood export is forecast to reach $5.2 billion, 5% higher than 2010, despite technical barriers, new standard in 2011.
Mineral, agry-forestry and seafood and other staples are set to export worth $7.6 billion (down 2.9% on year), $15.2 billion (up 1.2% on year) and $12.3 billion.
However, MoIT did not give any forecast figure of turnover of imported staples. – Stoxplus.com
