Vietnam takes part in 2010 Robocon competition

The Robocon team LH-LED, from Lac Hong University in Dong Nai province will represent Vietnam in the final round of the 2010 Asia-Pacific Robocon contest, to be held in Cairo, Egypt on September 21.

With the theme “Robo-Pharaohs Build Pyramids”, 20 teams from the region will compete to build three pyramids within three minutes. The winner will be the team who finishes the task in the shortest time.

The LH LED team beat 34 teams from universities, colleges and high schools nationwide to win the 2010 Vietnam robot competition held in May.

Originally launched in Japan in 2002, Robocon is an annual contest held by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, to encourage robotic inventions by young people in the region.

At the 7th Asia-Pacific Robocon contest, held in Tokyo in 2009, the team from the University of Technical Education in Ho Chi Minh City won third prize.- VNA
