Vietnam-Taiwan Trade Valued at US$3.94B in H1

Trade between Vietnam and Taiwan (China) stood at US$3.94 billion in the first half of this year, including the former’s trade gap of US$2.62 billion.

Vietnam exported US$665 million worth of goods to Taiwan, up 38.2% on-year and imported US$3.28 billion, up 11.5% on-year, the Vietnam Trade Office in Taiwan said on August 2.

The Southeast Asian nation’s main imports from Taiwan were petroleum products, cloth and machinery and equipment while its export staples were rice, apparel and machinery and equipment.

In late February, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said the two-way trade stood at US$7.37 billion in 2009, including Vietnam’s trade deficit of US$5.13 billion.
