Vietnam construction steel sales reached 389,712 tons in May, down 11.4% from April but up by 37.39% year-on-year, raising the total steel sales to 2.1 million tons in Jan-May, up 16.24% on-year, the online newspaper CafeF reported on June 10, citing the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA).
The steel sales fell in May after the government’s the Revolution 11 on taming inflation and stabilizing macroeconomics by control prices, cutting down the state investment projects and tightening monetary which directly affecting the property market.
Meanwhile, VSA’ members produced 437,689 tons of steel in May, up 0.67% from April and 23.22% year-on-year.
The steel inventory was 402,044 tons, enough supply for June, VSA said. – Stoxplus.com
