Vietnam sets over $6.6m for energy development
Ministry of Industry and Trade and United Nations International Development Organization (UNIDO) lately signed a cooperation deal in launching the project of boosting energy efficiency in industry through maximizing system and standardize energy management in Vietnam, the VnExpress reported.
Accordingly, the project prioritizes construction of capacity of equipment producers and distributors, energy service consultants and lawmakers. The industries supported by the project include food processing, apparel, rubber, paper and paper powder.
The aim of project is to train 10 domestic experts in energy management and transfer empowerment to enterprises. It is expected to generate nearly 200 engineers in the energy industry.
Total cost for the project is estimated at more than $6.6 million, started from May and sponsored by Global Environment Fund. The project lasts 3.5 years with the monitoring of Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Energy Efficiency Office. – Vietbiz24
