Vietnam seeks rice export opportunities via UAE

Vietnamese rice exporters on Sept. 7 engaged in a discussion with a delegation from Rice International Conference and Exhibition in Dubai (Rice Dubai 2011) of the United Arab Emirates, to seek more opportunities for Vietnam’s rice exports.

Faisal Ali Mousa, who led the delegation, said Dubai not only re-exports rice and farming products to the Middle East and Africa but also to South Asia .

In that context, Rice Dubai 2011 is seen as an opportunity to develop Dubai into a leading re-exporter for Vietnamese rice exporters and to connect them with over 1,000 rice importers in the United Arab Emirates and the world at large, he said.

He suggested Vietnam’s rice export sector take advantage of its good quality and competitive price to have strong steps in approaching the Middle East and North Africa as the country’s rice export values to the region are low.
