Vietnam saves over 3.8tr dong of regular expenditure

Ministry of Finance reported that total cut of 10% in regular spending of central and local agencies, ministries since the start of 2011 was estimated at around 3.858 trillion dong.
In which, central ministries and agencies saved nearly 900 billion dong (including MoF cut 167.85 billion, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development 86.07 billion dong, Vietnam Television 61.48 billion dong, and Vietnam Social Insurance 56.06 billion dong).

Hanoi and HCM City are local governances that have the highest reduction in regular expenditure with 280.33 billion dong and 196.44 billion dong respectively among total 2.958 trillion dong made by municipal agencies.

On June 2, Permanent Vice Minister of Finance Nguyen Cong Nghiep signed Official Dispatch No 7244/BTC-NSNN ordering municipal and central agencies to report results of saving 10% of regular spending for the rest of this year. – Vietbiz24
