Vietnam currently has 220,000 tons of salt in stock year-to-date while the new crop in the Mekong Delta River is on track, the online newspaper Danviet reported on February 16, citing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Ministry has proposed to the Prime Minister to restrict the imported salt by technical barriers as high inventory level.
Last year, salt output reached 1.2 billion tons.
