Vietnam is estimated to have earned $2.3 billion from rubber export in 2010

Vietnam is estimated to have earned $2.3 billion from rubber export in 2010, the local newspapers Phap Luat Thanh Pho Ho Chi Minh reported on December 28, citing Le Quang Thung, General Director of Vietnam Rubber Group.

Thung said that domestic rubber sector have earned around VND80,000 billion revenue in 2010 due to higher rubber export prices.

The exported rubber is forecast to increase to $5,000/ton in the coming time, Thung predicted.

Vietnam ranks fifth and fourth among countries and territories worldwide in terms of rubber cultivation area and natural rubber export, respectively. Vietnam currently exports rubber to 39 countries all over the world, mostly to China with 60% of total rubber export.
