Vietnam Rice Exports Hit Nearly US$1.6MB by Mid July

Vietnam earned nearly US$1.6 billion from exporting 3.58 million tons of rice by mid July, said the Vietnam Food Association.

The country exported 254,000 tons worth of $104 million in the first two weeks of July, according to the association.

Rice prices have rebounded in the Mekong Delta provinces thanks to the government-led plan to support local firms to buy one million tons of summer-autumn rice for stockpiles.

5% broken rice is offered at between VND5.45 million and VND5.55 million a ton while prices of 25% broken rice are ranging from VND5.35 million to VND5.4 million a ton, up VND100,000-VND200,000 a ton from previous weeks.
