Vietnam Retail Sales, Services Revenue to Soar 23.76% to VND150T in Feb
Total retail sales and services revenue of Vietnam is estimated to surge 23.76% on-month to VND150 trillion ($8.12 billion) in February, the General Statistics Office said.
The sharp increase is mainly attributed to the growing power purchase ahead the Lunar New Year or Tet holiday that will start on Feb. 14, according to the GSO.
Prices of staple goods will rise between 5% and 10% during the Tet holiday, the office forecast.
The GSO estimated the country’s retail sales and services revenue rose 0.53% on-month and 23.1% on-year to VND121.2 trillion ($6.56 billion) in January. (HCM City Law)
