Vietnam remains world’s leading cashew exporter

Till date, Vietnam has achieved 390,000 hectares of cashew cultivation with an export output of about 180,000 tonnes of cashew, earning an export turnover of some US$1 billion, according to Vietnam Cashew Association (VCA) on November 14.

Thus, in four consecutive years (2006-2010), Vietnam has been ranked the world’s largest cashew exporter (exceeding India-the traditional country with 100 years of being the world’s leading cashew exporter).

In terms of processing cashew, Vietnam ranked the second (after India) and ranked the third in the world on productivity and output (after India and Ivory Coast). – Lao Dong
