Vietnam has reached a high FDI (foreign direct investment) Confidence Index ranking, said Professor Michel Henry Bouchet at a foreign exchange management seminar that was held on April 18, 2011 in Hanoi by the French-Vietnamese Center for Management Education (CFVG) and the France Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

With his rich experience in international banking, Professor Michel Henry Bouchet gave assessments of financial risks in countries and an overall review of international organizations’ assessments of the Vietnamese economy.

The professor said that, according to the A.T. Kearney evaluation, Vietnam ranks 12th among countries/territories in terms of FDI Confidence Index, before France, Russia, Indonesia and Malaysia, and China tops the list. Both the World Economic Forum in Davos in Switzerland, and the World Bank (WB) have positive assessments of the Vietnamese economy, he added. Vietnam is experiencing a gross domestic product (GDP) growth that is necessary but not enough to assure sustainable development so Vietnam needs to increase management and explicitness, the professor said.-VEN
