Vietnam ranked 8th position in apparel export

Le Quoc An, chair of Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) stated that Vietnam was ranked at 8th position among the world’s largest apparel export countries with 2009 export turnover of $9.1 billion. Compared to that of 1991 of $116 million, the country’s export turnover was 78 times higher.

At present, Vietnam-made apparel products have been exported to most of important import countries in the world. In the US markets, the total export value of Vietnam-made apparel products for the past ten years (from 2001-2010) increased by 100 times, from $47 million to nearly $5 billion.
