Vietnam raises tra fish export prices

The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) has decided to increase export prices of bred-tra fish (known as pangasius) to the EU and US markets.

Accordingly, one kilogram of tra fish will be shipped to the EU at the price of 3.4 USD instead of the previous 3.2 USD level.

In the last decade, Vietnam ‘s tra fish fillets have secured a firm niche in the EU market, accounting for 20 percent of the market’s imports.

To the US market, one kilogram of tra fish will rise to 4 USD from 3.8 USD.

In 2010, Vietnam earned nearly 1.4 billion USD from tra and basa fish exports.
