Vietnam q2 GDP grows 5.67 % y/y

Vietnam’s economy expanded an estimated 5.67% in the second quarter from a year before after annual growth of 5.43% in the first quarter, the government said on Wednesday.

That contributed to growth in the first half of 5.57% compared with a year before, the General Statistics Office said in its monthly report, in line with earlier forecasts by the Planning and Investment Ministry.

The Vietnamese government has recently raised its inflation target for this year to 15% from 11.75% and cut the economic growth forecast to 6% from 6.5%. (Reporting by Ho Binh Minh; Editing by Alan Raybould) – Reuters
