Vietnam Produces 24.92M Tons of Cement in H1

Vietnam’s cement producers generated 4.41 million tons of cement in June, raising the country’s total output to 24.92 million tons in the first six months, equaling 49.8% of its full-year target.

The country used 24.49 million tons of cement in H1, including 4.32 million tons in June, the Ministry of Construction said without giving on-year comparison.

This year, cement firms plan to operate 13 more production lines with total designed capacity of 11.7 million tons, raising the country’s total designed capacity to 65 million tons and actual production capacity of 55 million tons.

Vietnam’s cement sales are forecast to reach 50 million and 51.5 million tons in 2010, up 11% on-year.
