Vietnam PM Okays Borrowing Loan from Czech for Hanoi-Haiphong Expressway
The Vietnamese prime minister has given a principle-approval to the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) to get a loan from Czech’s KB Bank to build Hanoi-Haiphong Expressway.
The PM has asked the VDB to sign a deal with the bank which has a 10-year maturity, the government said on November 30. It, however, did not mention the loan value.
The Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Finance Investment Joint Stock Company (VIDIFI) started building the six-lane expressway which is 105.5 kilometers long on May 19.
The highway, which runs through Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Haiphong, is scheduled to open to traffic in 2011.
VIDIFI has a total registered capital of VND5 trillion, with 51% held by the VDB. (chinhphu.vn)
