It is also unacceptable to use land for construction of urban residential areas and industrial parks to develop golf courses. Golf course development must also ensure environment protection, the government added.
The government has required the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to cooperate with other ministries and agencies to build criteria for golf course development and assessment and submit to the prime minister for approval.

Vietnam has inspected 166 golf course projects and revoked licenses from 77 projects because of inefficient land use.
