Vietnam PM Approves Investment Promotion Agreement with Iran

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved an agreement on investment promotion and encouragement signed with the Iranian government last December 23 in Hanoi.

The PM has assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to complete necessary legal procedures and inform the Iranian side of the approval to make the agreement to take effect soon, the government said on its website.

Vietnam and Iran have signed memoranda of understanding on fisheries, trade and investment cooperation.

The two nations are trying to boost the bilateral trade to US$300 million this year from US$145 million in 2008.
