Vietnam plans human resources for nuclear power programs
Electricity of Vietnam, the country’s power giant, and Ministry of Education and Training signed an agreement of human resources training for nuclear power programs, which will be funded by Russia-based Rosatom national atomic energy group (50 percent).
EVN will finance 50 percent of cost for the HR training project, the local newswire VnExpress reported on April 13.
According to the project, Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with EVN and relevant companies will employ staffs and students to send for overseas training to gain Master degree the Russian National Research Nuclear University (MEPHI), one of the most recognized technical universities in the world have signed an agreement to cooperate on nuclear power infrastructure progress. Training cost will be funded by Rosatom and EVN.
EVN will fund living cost of $200 per head a month for qualified employees. The cooperation agreement is expired by 2020 with an aim to build HR training project for Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant and the national nuclear power development program until 2020.
Work on Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant is expected to start in December 2014, and the second one in May 2015. Therefore, the HR demand for nuclear power program from now to 2020 will be high, including HR for managing, supervising, and building as well as running nuclear power plants. – Vietbiz24
