Vietnam paper output +12.7% in Jan-July

Vietnamese firms were estimated to produce 924,600 tons of papers between Jan and Jul, rising 12.7% from a year earlier, said the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The volume failed to meet the domestic demand, forcing the firms to import 533,000 tons worth $492 million, down 5% on-year in volume but up 20.7% in value.

The Vietnam Paper and Pulp Association forecast that local firms are expected to produce 1.55 million tons by the year’s end.
