Vietnam needs $123.78B for railway development projects by 2030

Vietnam is seeking around VND2,410 trillion ($123.78 billion) for railway development projects between now and 2030. Of the sum, the country will need VND1,355 trillion through 2020 for railway infrastructure projects.

The rest of VND1,054 trillion will be poured in the phase from 2020 to 2030 to complete an overall railway development plan approved by the government.

Last year, Vietnam invested a total of VND708.8 trillion in development projects, up 15% on-year, including VND228.24 trillion for major infrastructure projects, up 98% from a year earlier.

The Southeast Asian country is in dire need of capital for developing infrastructure projects nationwide. It plans to raise VND56 trillion from bond issuances for its major infrastructure projects this year. (Transport)
