Vietnam motorbikes import is estimated to rise by 19.1% on-year to $248 million in the first three months of this year, the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) said.

Of total, the complete built unit (CBU) motorbike import also sharply increased at $36 million worth of 24,200 units, up 27.1% for value but down 1% for quantity on-year.

In March alone, the country imported $80 million units, up 6.1% on-year, including $5 million worth of 4,500 CBU units, up 66.6% on-year for value and 47.2% on-year for quantity, GSO said.

Vietnam automobile import is estimated to have reached $734 million, up 20.3% on-year, including $252 million worth of 14,800 complete built unit (CBU) automobiles in the first quarter of this year, GSO said.
